Huddersfield In Bloom / Tidy Trader 2008
How to get involved.
The Kirklees central nursery makes up hanging baskets and window boxes using their extensive range of plants. The displays are delivered and hung on brackets in early June, depending on the weather. They will be supplied and watered, by the expert Kirklees team throughout the season, then removed and the site tidied in late September.

Brackets must be in place by the beginning of May.

What Is Tidy Trader
And How Does It Work?
Public perception of your business is key to your success. This competition aims to encourage businesses to look after and improve their shop frontages.
Each entrant will be visited every three weeks during June, July and August. Judges will be looking for "that well cared for feel". Clean windows, a fresh coat of paint, perhaps a hanging basket may give an entrant the edge over their competitors.

Following each inspection entrants will receive confidential feedback to enable them to implement any suggested improvements during the competition period.

Entry to the Tidy Trader Competition is FREE

Do I Have To Enter Huddersfield in Bloom to Enter Tidy Trader?
No, although a good floral display might give your business the edge over your competitor.

What Are The Benefits?
Public perception of your business is key to your success. Hanging baskets and window boxes add life and colour to the outside of your shop, office, pub or store. A well cared for environment encourages customers.

All town centre businesses who support Huddersfield In Bloom/ Tidy Trader will have the chance to win a prize in one of several categories and will be invited to the award ceremony. The Huddersfield Civic Society will present trophies to the overall winners from each competition.
