As a way to get people into the party spirit before the Festival starts we're offering you the chance to enjoy some amazing food and outstanding beer in a number of restaurants and real ale pubs.

Real Ale Trail
Monday 26 July to Sunday 15 August

Take part in the real ale trail and receive a free festival beer glass*. During the three weeks of the trail you need to visit all eight pubs, buy a half or a pint of real ale and get your trail flyer stamped.

Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival - Real Ale Trail 2010

Once you have eight stamps you can exchange your completed flyer for a festival glass at the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival information marquee or The Star Inn stall at St. George's Square between 12 and 15 August. Pick up the trail flyer from the pubs taking part or download a copy here.

Taste Trail

Saturday 7 August

A big thank you to everyone that took part in this year’s Taste Trail and to all the restaurants that provided free samples for everyone to try. Don’t forget to rate each restaurant by completing the Trail flyer.

Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival - Taste Trail 2010

The winning restaurant will be crowned Festival Restaurant of the Year and by handing in your flyer you will be entered into the prize draw to win a meal for two at the winning restaurant. Bring your flyer to the Festival information marquee or send it back to:

Amateur Chef Competition

Sunday 15 August 11am

Congratulations to Tim Lyles and Tarryn Gillies, the winners of the semi finals of the Amateur Chef of the Year competition.

Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival - Amateur Chef Competition 2010

Come along on Sunday at 11am and watch them go head to head. Tim will be preparing his Dewsbury breakfast omelette and Tarryn will be serving up her Aussie pancakes.

The lucky winner will be crowned Amateur Chef of the Year and will receive some great prizes including a day's training under a local chef and a spot demonstrating their winning dish at the Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival in September.
