| Festival Cookery Demonstrations 2010 Thursday 12 August 11.00am to 1.00pm Following the official opening by the Mayor Kirklees, local Celebrity chefs Tim Bilton from the Butchers Arms and Barrington Douglas from Discovery Bay start the Festival with a “Ready Steady Cook” style competition. 1.00pm to 2.00pm Join the Minister of Chocolate for a wine and chocolate pairing demonstration. 2.00pm to 3.00pm To be confirmed |

3.00pm to 4.00pm Propermaid will be demonstrating their creative twist on the traditional Pontefract cake. A liquorice flavoured sponge topped with the classic Pontefract Cakes and coated with a black fondant and sweet fennel sweets. 4.00pm to 5.00pm Eric Paxman from Bradley's in conjunction with The Examiner. Friday 13 August 11.00am to 12.00 noon Cooper's Coffee will demonstrate how to make the perfect cappuccino and the perfect latte. Find out about the importance of coffee grinders, how to foam and steam the milk and create Latte Art - the designs that you sometimes see on lattes. Come and watch Cooper's coffee expert to see how it's done. 12.00 noon to 1.00pm Join Angus from Demijons sampling some of their handmade British liqueurs. Including Sloe Gin , Gooseberry Gin , Rhubarb Vodka and Bramble Scotch Whisky Liqueur. 1.00pm to 2.00pm Join Huddersfield Town Crier Vic Watson and Keighley Town Crier Michael Walton for the noisiest demonstration of the Festival! 2.00pm to 3.00pm Tim Bilton will be demonstrating some of his favourite dishes 3.00pm to 4.00pm Kirklees College Chef Lecturers Cynthia Matheson and Simon Hallas will demonstrate how to make a Gluten and nut free Plum Frangipane, grilled halloumi and roasted pepper salad and halloumi pancetta wraps. 4.00pm to 5.00pm David Johnston from Temujin will be cooking sweet and sour stir-fried kangaroo and vegetables. |
Saturday 14 August 11.00am to 1.00pm Real Radio presenters Pete Egerton and Sarah Graham will be going head to head in our “Ready, Steady, Cook' style competition helped by chefs Ben Varley from The Rock and David Johnston from Temujin More details >> 1.00pm to 2.00pm Tim Bilton will be demonstrating some of his favourite dishes using venison from Round Green Farm. 2.00pm to 3.00pm Tahir Javed, head chef from Ali Murad will be cooking dishes from the menu. 3.00pm to 4.00pm Head Chef Craig McDonell from Voda Bar & grill will be demonstrating dishes from their menu. 4.00pm to 5.00pm Join Ejaz Ali head chef from the Akkash restaurant. |

Sop supper's are sandwiches filled with hot beef and onion, hot turkey or pork with stuffing, all in gravy ther'll be plenty of tasters. 3.00pm – 4.00pm The head chef from Il Gato Nero will be demonstrating dishes from their menu. |
